While Mary engages in various types of civil litigation, her practice focuses chiefly in the expansive areas of education law, special education law, and employment law. Mary has also represented other governmental entities, corporations, small businesses, and individuals in a variety of litigated matters.
Though much of Mary’s practice involves civil litigation, she also devotes a notable amount of her practice to counseling and advising clients on best practices and legal issues arising out of many areas of the law, including Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Title IX, and various other federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to employment law, education law, and other facets of her legal practice.
Prior to establishing Bennett & DeCamp, PLLC in 2018, Mary practiced law for over nine years at a civil defense law firm in Chattanooga.
Mary regularly gives presentations to organizations and individuals on issues, best practices, and current events impacting employers, school boards, and/or school systems.
